Sweet Simple Jam

Fruit in the fridge and not sure what to do with it? Is it on the verge of spoiling? Take the berries you have in the fridge and create a simple jam to prolong their shelf life.


Ingredients:

  • Sugar

  • Lemon Juice

  • Berry of choice


Materials:

  • Stove Top

  • Bowl

  • Spoon

  • Pot

  • Jar


Instructions:

  1. Wash fruit and remove any stems or pits, placing them in a large bowl

  2. Spoon sugar over top of the bowl enough to cover the top of the fruit

  3. Leave to sit for at least 30 minutes

  4. Pour contents of the bowl into a pot

  5. Squeeze in lemon juice

  6. Bring pot to a low boil and let content simmer

  7. Occasionally stirring and scraping down the sides

  8. Once thickened use spoon or fork to mash the berries down

  9. Turn off heat and let the mixture cool

  10. (Optional) blend the mixture for a smoother texture

  11. Jar the contents for future use
