A Good Bar


Nuts, trail mix, dried fruit, it’s all just sitting in the pantry waiting to be snacked on. Why not take all these ingredients and combine them into a good bar? Take all those pantry goodies into one bar so you don't have to struggle to decide which to eat!


Ingredients:


  • Trail Mix

  • Nuts

  • Dried Fruit

  • Honey

  • Flaky Salt

  • Vanilla Extract (optional)

  • Cinnamon (optional)


Tools:

  • Baking Sheet

  • Parchment paper

  • Saucepan

  • Thermometer

Instructions:


  1. Grease a baking sheet and line with baking paper, overhang is okay.

  2. Place nuts, trail mix, and any dried fruit in a food processor and pulse until coarsely chopped.

  3. Transfer to a heatproof bowl with 1 tsp salt flakes.

  4. Place honey in a saucepan over medium heat. Bring to boil, then cook, without stirring, for 3 minutes or until it reaches 140ºC on a sugar thermometer.

  5. Add vanilla and cinnamon, if using, and stir to combine.

  6. Working quickly, combine honey mixture and pantry mix.

  7. Press into prepared pan with a spoon. Cool to room temperature, then cut into bars.

  8. Store, between pieces of baking paper, in an airtight container at room temperature, for up to 2 weeks.
